Inner Strength
By Emmariah Holcomb
It’s 4:15 a.m., my eyes faintly open as I wake up with slight pain from yesterday’s full body weighted workout at the gym. Why am I up now? It’s simple, I’m tapping into my inner strength and getting back in the gym by 5 a.m. You might ask what this has to do with paint protection film—I don’t blame you, but the routine, constant pain and progress allows me to move forward like so many of you.
Thinking back to this time last year, I was strong but not as dedicated to certain strength goals as I am now—I’m focused and determined. Many PPF and window film business owners have said they have a different mindset this year when compared to 2020. This is because anything can and will happen. COVID-19 taught all of us about adaptability, future planning and having resilience. The pandemic has changed us. Maybe you have put plans in place to avoid delays or breaks in communication if something like the pandemic were to strike again. All of the planning and meetings have led to a promising start to 2021. Maybe you have or are in the process of expanding to bigger locations, looking to hire additional staff and even adding services like ceramic coatings (see page 10). All of these tasks involve patience, learning, risk and strength in order to make your wants into a reality.
The window industry has changed and more consumers are not only seeing the value in it, but are flocking to have film installed. This should serve as motivation for you to get lingering tasks done so that you can continue building up your business. There’s not one person in the biz that hasn’t agreed that change and growth go hand-in-hand. I’m excited to see how your businesses will improve and shape the future of PPF. I just hope by then I’m strong enough to handle it.
