3M’s Scotchgard paint protection film pro series continues to offer a high level of scratch and stain-resistance, clarity and durability. Its clear coat provides clarity to preserve the color and design features of a vehicle, according to the company. It’s flexible and is said to last under harsh conditions.

The polyurethane film is reinforced with a clear coat of hard-wearing urethane that provides additional protection from UV damage. It also comes with a clear acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive on one side that adheres easily and securely to automotive paint systems and protects the paint from damage, according to the company. The Scotchgard films do not require any special care, so customers can wash and wax their vehicle as they usually would.

Eastman Performance Films, LLC announced its investment in leading three-dimensional scanning technology for paint protection film patterns. According to the company, this next-generation technique enhancement will transform the process of pattern development and elevate their current database of paint protection film patterns at Eastman’s Pattern Designers team, realizing previously unattainable levels of speed and accuracy. This 3D scanning technology employs lasers to capture the shape of any vehicle as flexible data that is quickly converted into a 2D template without ever having to touch the surface of a vehicle. This technology supports LLumar, SunTek and V-Kool brands.
