SunTek’s TruCut software is designed to match with plotters and streamline the PPF installation process. According to the company, it installs quickly, features design tools and has a growing library of vehicle patterns. At the SEMA Show last fall, SunTek representative Hilary Thomas said more resources have been directed toward perfecting the software.

Solar Gard ComputerCut
Solar Gard says its ComputerCut film-cutting software and plotter system is the world’s only Internet-based pattern cutting system that accesses thousands of automotive PPF and window film paint patterns, decals, graphics and glass art images, according to the company. Representatives say the patterns are so precise that there is no need for additional hand-cutting of the film to fit the vehicle.

Graphtec FC8600
Graphtec’s FC8600 series cutting plotter is a staple in some PPF shops. It has a maximum cutting speed of 58.5 inches per second and 20 to 600 grams of selectable cutting forces.
In addition to PPF, it can cut sandblast-resistant rubber, automotive window films, self-adhesive vinyl and other media types, according to the company. It cuts up to 63 inches.

Madico Advanced Cutting System
Madico’s plotter and design program cuts any PPF and window film for any style of vehicle, according to the company. It is designed to help installers save time and money, and can reduce their dependence on hiring more people as their business grows. The software technology is being “updated constantly,” according to the company.
The MACS plotter can be used in automotive, paint protection, solar, safety and decorative film applications and is developed specifically for Madico dealers. It includes a range of patterns and options and offers four plotter options ranging from 40 to 64 inches and is available via purchase and leasing options.

Scorpion’s 6-mil PPF
Scorpion Coatings wants people to know that its 6-mil PPF is the most economical on the market, according to the company. The product comes with 3-mil adhesive, is top-coated and self-healing. It is backed by a seven-year warranty and available in 12-, 18-, 24-, 30-, 36- and 60-inch rolls as well as precut kits.
