Meet the Nation’s 2018 Top PPF Dealers

By Katherine Coig

The paint protection film (PPF) industry may be considered niche, but based on comments from this year’s top dealers, the demand for PPF in their respective markets is growing. Most stated their sales are increasing steadily year-over-year. One company more than doubled its PPF sales in a year’s time, reporting a 152-percent increase.

Chelsea Pringle, PPF installer at PerfecTint in Springfield, Mo., reports that her company currently is building a second  location specifically for PPF installations due to the growing demand in the area. Greg Earl, owner of The Tint Pros in Huntington Beach, Calif., says his company’s PPF division is relatively new, but is quickly gaining traction due to referrals.

“In our community, we are growing PPF awareness by sponsoring car clubs like Porsche club, Viper club and several Corvette clubs,” says Kyle Owen, owner of Clear Bra Indy in Carmel, Ind., whose PPF revenue increased by 85 percent year-over-year. “We also sponsor car shows and events.”

The top five dealers averaged $1,152,718 in annual PPF sales, a 7-percent increase over 2016’s sales, which averaged $1,081,685. With that in mind, PPF sales in 2018 should have a bright forecast.

These dealers were selected based on their self-reported total 2017 sales, which were then broken down by their provided PPF business percentage. If you think your company may qualify as a top PPF dealer for next year’s feature, contact editor Katherine Coig at  coig@glass.com to be considered.
