The 2023 International Window Film Conference and Tint-Off™ (WFCT)—my third WFCT—is under 150 days away, and the show’s full seminar slate is nearly complete. Take a look at two paint protection film (PPF)-centric sessions worth traveling for.
Marketing Efforts

As the owner of Ceramic Pro Pottstown in Pottstown, Pa., Focus on PPF/CC e-newsletter blogger Gabe Fletcher knows that success in the automotive detailing industry is about more than just offering professional services with certified products. His business did more than $1 million in PPF, ceramic coatings and window tint sales in 2022. Fletcher and his business partner Tyler Lordi use their marketing agency, Detailing Growth, as a platform to lift fellow businesses to similar heights.
Join the climb in a WFCT session titled Firing on all Cylinders: How to Market Successfully in 2023, held on Wednesday, September 20, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The session is applicable to all industry segments.
PPF Perfectionism
“Expectations are ridiculously important,” says Josh Poponick, owner of Blackout Tinting in Latrobe, Pa., Pittsburgh and Miami. “It’s one of the first things we train our salespeople on when they start with us. The biggest problem we have is miscommunication between the salesperson and the customer. They don’t set expectations, and now we have a customer we can’t make happy. They came into it with the wrong mindset, and now we can’t go backward.”

On Friday, September 22, from 9 to 10 a.m., Poponick will lead a seminar centered on curtailing the customer’s desire for perfection:
Fighting PPF Perfectionism with Proper Expectations
Curtailing the customer’s desire for perfection and setting realistic expectations before an installation is crucial with paint protection film. In fact, Poponick says that goal falls second only to customer service and a quality installation. Learn how he sets the tone with customers in this session.
Poponick adds, “Most customers don’t expect perfection. But if you don’t tell them anything, they do expect perfection because they don’t know any better. Most start with an unrealistic expectation, but once you describe PPF to them, 99.9% get it and are cool with it.”
See you Seaside!
